Hey! I'm new to the forum and have just attempted my first ROTJ build. Thought I would post up some pics for any good advice! I made the armour parts myself using 3mm foamex, although the knees and gauntlets were 3D printed. The jetpack is also a 3D print, and while I'm happy with my paint job, the model itself is not quite correct. This will likely be changed at a later date for a more accurate model and I also need to add the top greebles.
I've had some issues with attaching my gauntlets, so any advice on how to do that better would be great! Currently the top an bottom are on a hinge with magnets to close, but they pop open way too easily. I've tried adding some velcro to the insides and on the sleeves of the flight suit, but this has been difficult to then get them to shut properly. The left gauntlet actually started to split along the hinge line, so I've had to reinforce this with resin.
The jetpack harness has also been a bit of a pain, is there anyone who makes these in the UK? or sells the parts to self-assemble!
My gloves are also not great, again, is there anyone in the UK who makes these?
My boot spikes need to be changed, i'm working on that now!
Also is there anyone who makes the braids in the UK as I'm struggling to make these long enough?
I ended up changing my tubing to silicone as when using braided hose I was struggling to get much movement in my arm. I had attached it it to the inside of the flight suit with a plastic clip, but it really pushed the tubing out. Any better ways to attach braided hose?
Any other advice would be very much appreciated
