I'm back...looking for some help with a Fallout: NV NCR Combat Armor costume

Hey everyone, I've been off here for a while with my lack of funds to really get my Fett going again...had to sell off a good portion of it over the last 2 years, sadly. I've since made a full SG-1 Costume for about what a bucket goes for, so I've got something completed

Anyway, I'm looking for some help with a brand new project, and not even sure if it's doable. I have been playing a TON of Fallout: New Vegas lately, and I love the NCR Ranger Combat Armor, and would love to make a costume of it. However, I haven't found anyone who's done it, so I have no reference for a starting point.

I know there are some amazingly skilled guys and gals out there on this great forum, and I was wondering if you could check this over and see if it could be doable with real world parts, or if it would have to be mostly custom. I can build a costume with the parts already made, but when it comes to scratch building, well, it just isn't something I'm capable of

Now, this isn't the gas mask and duster outfit, just the regular NCR combat armor. here's a link to a pic of it. Pretty please let me know what can be done with this. Thanks.

Looks a lot like sporting equipment... like the stuff worn under football jerseys... maybe start with something like that and modify? The rest could be made from Sintra possibly... or other parts of sporting goods.
