well little explaining is in order with the crued, crued pics... but i just hav a strap going between the 2 openings in the backplate, and 2 plastic clips on each end (can be a pain to get the clips through once youve swen a strap thats teh exact length from opening to opening)

then teh other ends of tehse clips are attached to my jet pack (wich isnt heavy)

and the strap thats attached to the pack goes around my waste and its pretty nicely secured, mind you that if you jump or run, the clips will break...

and my armor back plate looks like hell, but its made of aluminium and was very cheap to make, so i wasnt afraid to put some force on it to get teh strap through.

so my pack basicly hangs on my collar armor and waste.

hope that helps, I was done pretty quick with this...

(edited a pic to show what myn looks liek now.. I was kind of amazed to see that it hang on the precise right hight...since i didnt measure anything when i made the 2 openings, just looked right, cause I was sure it would take a while before I got my jet pack and i'd someday redo/buy my backplate, so when I finally got my jet pack...I was like.... well lets try and use what i have here this...an it worked, just tore 2 clips (that means 4 pieces in total ) of an old school bag, attached the 2 ends 2 my jet pack with iron wiring... and made a short strap for the other 2 on the backplate, this i did measure and wham there it was...lucky shot i gues, but works fine :) )
