Hey guys.
Since I'm in charge of our cub scout pack I figured I would do my due diligence and give our popcorn fundraiser a shameless plug on here.
The stuff seems expensive (because it is) but it's because most of the money you are using to buy the popcorn goes to local scouting. Think of it more like "Hey if you give me a donation I'll give you a bag of popcorn" instead of just buying a bag of popcorn.
This is our only major fundraiser and it covers operational costs, rechartering and training and anything else the pack is able to do can only be done with what is left after the business side is taken care of.
The Upside is, last year the popcorn fundraiser gave our pack enough cash on hand to take a trip to Washington D.C., which was really cool! and it would have been impossible without the popcorn fundraiser being successful.
Personal thoughts:
1) I know school is starting and all the sports and schools and organizations are peddling for funds, but this one directly impacts me and the kids I am in charge of so I'mma go ahead and show it to you guys anyway.
2) The popcorn is damn delicious. Last year I thought it was a selling tactic. It's not. Literally just downed a bag of Kettle Korn like it was breakfast cereal.
3) Sorry if I'm being annoying or breaking any forum rules. I didn't really see anything in the posting guidelines so sorry in advance if I broke any.
4) I love you all
If any of you guys are interested in getting a bag of popcorn for helping out our small little band, you would have my gratitude and you'd be helping a bunch of elementary school kids have an opportunity to do some pretty cool stuff this year.
