    Bondo.

    Why don't you make molds out of MDF and vacform the pieces you need ? you can also make molds and drape form expanded pvc (sintra) over them. This would give you the shape you want with no fillers and it won't weigh a lot either.

    I put 4 sew on snaps on my shoulders . In side by my neck and outside by my shoulder . Then put 4 snaps on my cape evenly spaced . This gives me several cape configurations . All on one shoulder ( either one ) or across the back .

    Making a mold of a wood positive??

    I just did this with a Klingon disruptor . What you want to do is coat your wood sculpt with sanding sealer . then the silicon can't get in to the grain of the wood to make it stick or pick up the grain to show in your cast later.

    Zurath save your money for a fiberglass helmet . A lot of things can be overlooked if you have a realy great helmet. Otherwise you have a really great start and you just need to keep refining it as you go along. remember you may need to resize armor plates for your body typ.

    Just buy the can of bondo after you have it you might be supprised what you will find to do with it. also I use the bondo spot puty all the time and love that stuff just has a high shrink factor so have to layer deeper holes but dries reel fast

    If you did a solid build up then you could allways make a mold off of them and cast them out of resin . If it is for a static display then the weight of resin would not mater so much.

    Yes you can do this I have done it the trick is to use a wax based release agent dont skimp on it , but you still might ruin the original piece in the process .
