I would agree that the "blue" is more for 'stun' or 'disable', as in ESB the Ion Cannon is shoots a blue laser to disable the SD. Red is more for 'kill'. Course they could just be playing with the colors for fun and not really care about continuity.

It was mentioned that it could be a Myford Lathe switch box, either the 'on/off' push button or a 'forward/reverse' switch box. However searching through Myford switches hasn't turned up anything close. I drew up a ruff cartoon of what I am interpreting of the B/W photo
