    Smoked T visor

I had clear acrylic and just placed a piece of window tint film on it. If it gets scratched or peels, just peel it off and place a new piece. I didn't want anyone to see inside so I used the "limo" tint that was at my local auto store. Also protects against UV!!!

    Rengald's Duct Tape Boba Fett

Haha, that's pretty clever. Good duct taping job.

Three Hole Borden Connector, Myth, Mystery or Made?

That's true. There is that sort of "high" you get when you find something you are looking for. Thing is, I didn't know there was a part out there like that.

Three Hole Borden Connector, Myth, Mystery or Made?

That's a lot of searching and research for the part. I just drilled a couple holes in some metal stock I had.

WIP: First helmet build, using sheet metal

The surface wasn't really smooth at all. I did a super rush job on it last year. Bondo, paint and visor were all done in 2 days. Looked decent in pictures, but I wasn't satisfied with it. I'll be taking more time on it this time around.

Ok, it's been far too long since I worked on this. Was really not satisfied with the paint and the "body work" on it, so I used a wire wheel and brushed off the paint on the dome and re-applied bondo. Ordered some helmet padding, welded a support for the chin.

    Scratch build ESB Boba WIP

Sweet, that's what I figured. This thread inspired me to get back on track with my Boba project. How did you get the paint to look as if it were chipped? I've seen the slightly soapy salt water paste method, and the paint chip solution stuff.

    Scratch build ESB Boba WIP

Wow, this is turning out pretty awesome. What template did you use for the gauntlets? I've found a couple of ROTJ ones, but can't seem to find the ESB gauntlets. I will be doing more research on the differences tonight, if it's not too much I'll build from the ROTJ templates and improvise the rest.

TF2 ESB Paint Job for Captain Awesome=FINISHED!

I'm a bit noob to the scene to know of previous work, but this looks pretty awesome. What color "gold" is that you are using?

WIP: First helmet build, using sheet metal

The material I used was from these metal shelves that I had as scrap. Metal gauge is 18, so it's not terribly heavy, but pretty solid. I have a Hobart 125 rd flux core welder, perfect for the projects I do at home. Other misc tools used were, peanut grinder, 3" disc cutter, dremel (for cutting...

WIP: First helmet build, using sheet metal

Sorry about not responding. Have been pretty busy with other stuff lately. The helmet has a good amount of weight to it, probably a bit more than a streetbike helmet. I've yet to make something to hold it in place on my head. I didn't notice the keyhole needing to be concave into the helmet. All...

Armor weathered with oil paints and chalk pastels (very pic heavy)

Very impressive. Thanks for sharing the painting tips.

WIP: First helmet build, using sheet metal

Now in the plans are some goodies. The suit is next. After much thinking and balancing on the fence about this, I've fallen off to the side of using sheet metal for the armor as well. Again, all of my work has been made much easier thanks to all of the hard work of all those that have put in the...
