    Those are the same boots that I used for mine. As far as filling in the gap, if you are going that route, Two words: "Shoe Goo" It is used for filling in shoe soles and its pretty durable for what its worth. You can get it at the hardware store or at Wally world for about $5.

    Thank you very much! A lot of the armor is made from pieces of thick pvc pipe. I cut sections, and then slit them down the middle. I then boiled it to open up the tubes into sheets.
