Do not use any valspar paints if you plan additional layers. Additional layers peel due to the film that's left after the paint cures. However, if you give it a serious buffing with wire wool, you can negate, potentially, some of the peeling. Sent from my LG-D851

Valspar is garbage from everything I've experienced. Unless you rub it down with wire wool prior to your next paint app. Otherwise it leaves a film that will only peel. Sent from my LG-D851

Take some wire wool to it, will smooth it out. With a Satin clear coat following, you'll have the finish you're looking for.

The width of the bottom part of the mandibles are what bother me. No fixing that, simply too wide.

I used Rubio's review of the FPH2 ROTJ helmet to help with this, and match up what I saw with the placement of Rafel's stencils. Wasn't too bad to match up all of the damage, and with a little bit of dremel and file work, came out fine. This Thread...
