Animefan CC Deluxe ROTJ + SGB McQuarrie V2 Dual Paint Up (double the fun)!

I did. I believe the final adjustment for printing for all templates was at 97% of the original size. It was subtle, but that made them fit! Sent from my LG-D851

ROTJ - back panel colours ?

Crimson, I laid/misted the colors down in order using the reference pics, including the red, gold, and black, according to Jayvee's tutorial and the reference pics on this site in the photo gallery from exhibits. Following that, I used steel wool and a razor to remove said layers and achieve...

    SGB McQuarrie V2 Paintup!

Alright, I lied. In my previous paintup post I stated that I was going to do both this bucket and my ROTJ simultaneously. However, after the depth, scope, and learning experience of both my ESB and ROTJ paintups, it was worth doing two threads. I'm utilizing my lessons learned and techniques...

    Helmet Display Mount

Did this method myself. Perfect for my office. Thank you TAguirre for the tutorial! Have a SGB RMV1 and V2 up there as well. Nice to look over at those throughout my workday.

    esb rattlecan paint armor colors

Do not use any valspar paints if you plan additional layers. Additional layers peel due to the film that's left after the paint cures. However, if you give it a serious buffing with wire wool, you can negate, potentially, some of the peeling. Sent from my LG-D851

Junior Jango Helmet scratch build WIP

Valspar is garbage from everything I've experienced. Unless you rub it down with wire wool prior to your next paint app. Otherwise it leaves a film that will only peel. Sent from my LG-D851

New Target Boba Fett helmet released

Negative...However, I cannot find the thread, but the correct visor was in fact a smoked visor, not a green tint. Someone here please link the thread that corroborates this. I was on the verge of installing a green tinted visor a few years ago when this discovery came up. Also, check this...

Yes, but get a smoked/grey and not the dark green one!

Animefan CC Deluxe ROTJ + SGB McQuarrie V2 Dual Paint Up (double the fun)!

****ROTJ COMPLETE!**** Well, minus a few details involving some pastels. But all in all complete. Very happy with the way this turned out, just wish I did not satin coat some of the previous layers. That's a lesson learned for next time as the silver cold cast dulls as you add this step. I...

Animefan CC MR Premium ESB Paint Up WIP

Take some wire wool to it, will smooth it out. With a Satin clear coat following, you'll have the finish you're looking for.

New Star Wars 2015 Force Awakens BOBA FETT Deluxe Helmet

The width of the bottom part of the mandibles are what bother me. No fixing that, simply too wide.

    help with rotj physical damage

I used Rubio's review of the FPH2 ROTJ helmet to help with this, and match up what I saw with the placement of Rafel's stencils. Wasn't too bad to match up all of the damage, and with a little bit of dremel and file work, came out fine. This Thread...

Animefan CC Deluxe ROTJ + SGB McQuarrie V2 Dual Paint Up (double the fun)!

BTW, Animefan, Absolutely Awesome Cast! Thank you for your work in what you do, and sending the best quality out. Had very little to do on the prep end, and that is much appreciated!!

Animefan CC Deluxe ROTJ + SGB McQuarrie V2 Dual Paint Up (double the fun)!

UPDATE>>>> Completed the upper cheeks using Jayvee's Tamiya XF-17 base and MM Schwarzgrun misting. Gotta say, it was tedious, but got it pretty close. I'm also convinced that the original in fact had a satin, or some other clear coat over the rest of the painting process. It's dull on my end...

Animefan CC Deluxe ROTJ + SGB McQuarrie V2 Dual Paint Up (double the fun)!

To everyone intimidated by the ROTJ helmet, GO FOR IT! I was turned off at first by its' complexity, then realized the beauty in attempting. It will definitely push your skills as an artist, and if you totally F-up the first time, the lessons learned are what makes it worth it. I avoided this...
