Don't Laugh...

Mullreel Think I need to add some of those to my Must Watch list.
I'm a bit better on the music side than the film side. :D

You have certainly done better than most of the young people I speak to.

BTW I have a theory on this phenomenon. When I was young if you wanted to watch a movie you had to actually watch it. If it was on TV you had to actually pay attention to it, you couldn't pause it. Also movies weren't readily available even at the video rental stores there were many titles that came and went. So if you rented it you had to watch it and take it back. But what it did was it forced you to make an actual decision and watch the film. Over the past many years movies and shows are more available to everyone at all times. There is absolutely no excuse for not seeing many of these films, they are literally available at the click of a button. BUT because they are so available young people never watch them.............that may seem backwards but think about it, they can watch it any time so they put it off...........then they watch cat videos on YouTube.

So because the films are so available is the reason they haven't seen them

That's a pretty good point. My dads always been a huge movie buff so that's why I've seen a bunch of the classics. Another thing to add to the thought of movies being so available is that I've noticed most of my friends would rather watch stuff on Netflix or Hulu instead of going to the theater to see a movie. I personally enjoy going out to watch a movie but at the same time whens the last time you've seen any of the movies on that list in theater? I also feel that most people my age don't appreciate the older movies because we have seen such a leap in tech causing quality of effects to be much better. Speaking of which that's why watching some animated movies is still impressive because you will still see things like Claymation.

The 30 year old girl that I'm dating had never seen any of the Star Wars movies until I made her a couple months back. Her response was something along the lines of "the green guy was hardly in the movies and he got eaten, why do you like him?"

Haha!!! Mullreel Thanks for the list of films that's awesome!!
So I was surprised at my wife's favorite characters from the original trilogy. She loves Han and Chewbacca. She didn't like one more than the other, said they had to stay as a package. I can respect that :D

yeah ive got a collection of dvd's that im going to make my kids watch when they are old enough to sit down for long enough to watch them, after reading that list i think ive got to add a few more. My kids are 5 and 8 and like pop music, i refuse to play it in the car so they are getting subliminally educated with what i like.

incidentaly my wife hasnt seen all the star wars, she refuses to watch them and calls them 'that space s$!t'. she says if i ever had an affair she would burn my star wars stuff as her revenge......

we also have a family joke about my son coming to me, it goes like this:-

son: dad i have something to tell you
me: what is it son, you can tell me anything
son: well i need to tell you im not like you
Me: what do you mean?
son: i dont know how to tell you this
Me: what?
Son: i just dont like star wars
Me: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
