Amt 22" cutaway u.s.s. Constellation build

Been on a bit of a Star Trek kick lately, watching the original TV episodes on Youtube and such. And if you're going to be a builder of Star Trek kits, it seems there is some unwritten rule that you have to do a version of the 'Connie' from The Doomsday Machine. I didn't particularly care for how the model looked in the original episode. Since money and time were tight, they just slapped together an old AMT 'Longbox' kit and filmed it. That being said, I decided to model my Constellation off of the digitally remastered version...with a few artistic interpretations thrown in...

Nice! Always loved that episode. William Windom gave a great performance as Matt Decker.
I like the internals you've done on the ship, very realistic looking.

It's one of my favorite episodes too. And yes he did, Eric.

Jesuit24- Yes, the damage is all scratch built. Strip styrene, sheet styrene, kit bashed pieces, and odd pits of photo-etch that I had lying around. I'm using this one as a practice run for my 1/350 Constellation. When Polar Lights announced the release of the original series Enterprise in 1/350 scale I pre-ordered two of them just for that purpose. Unfortunately, I got the RED 1701 Club t-shirt! DOH!
