I am working on an ESB Fett. This is my first time making a Fett costume and I am a rather recent member. I've posted a few threads here with various question and decided it was time to just make a general WIP thread to keep it all in one place and not clutter up the site. I would appreciate any feedback you wonderful, helpful, experienced people have to offer. I am going to be working as non-stop as I can be to get this wearable for Fan Expo in Toronto at the end of August, then improve it to get up to 501st standards before December.

I have only posted pictures of the main pieces so far, I have a lot of the smaller things like the ears and gauntlet details partially completed and will post pictures of them as I go on.

I have no idea what I would do without this site.

(Also sorry about the sideways helmet picture, I didn't mean to attach it and it won't go away)

Like I said, only needs to be wearable by August
I have been working at this since February, but had to put it away for couple of months. I plan to get the helmet cheekbones and earcaps in, shape the backplate, and get the other gauntlet base done before the weekend is over and get as much progress done as I can on the dome. Next week I start with the flak vest and the jetpack.

I'm also working on a Captain America costume, an Alex Mercer costume, and a Winter Soldier costume for other people to be ready for Fan Expo, so I'll be working at whirlwind pace indeed.:wacko

Hello again
I got delayed working on another costume this weekend but I have made progress today. I have both the cheekbones in and I am working now on sanding them down to fit better. I am trying to get some bondo to fill in the cracks as well. Hopefully will also get the right earcap almost done today. I will post pictures this afternoon.

3 Blue Oyster Cult albums later, here I am! I got both cheekbones in, put on both almost finished earcaps, worked on the rangefinder stalk, and attached the mandibles. I do have a lot of cracks to fill in with bondo, but I am unable to find any. Does anyone know where I should be able to get some?

Hey everyone. I put some mighty putty in the cracks of the cheekbones and other areas. Now just waiting for that to dry (only 23 hours left). I'm working on the right gauntlet now and
wondered if anyone had some tips on how to attach the two pieces together. I can't just glue them together because then my hand won't fit through. Help would be appreciated.

And here's where I'll finish today. I still (obviously) have a lot of work to do on this gauntlet, but this is good progress. There are hinges that I will cut down to be as close as I can get them to being flush against the surface of the gauntlet and a shoelace on the other side. The right side piece is hinged to allow access to and cover up the shoelace. What do you guys think of it so far?

This was my morning. I'm going to take a break and then come back and get the pieces together, then work on the flamethrower base. Anyone have any suggestions or is it looking OK so far?

Hi, mate! Looks really good so far! Good luck with your time-frame... I´m building my ESB Boba Fett since last year, and hope to be ready next year. You must be working night and day?! ;):wacko

Got them together. There are laces on one side again but I will dye them the same colour as the gauntlets and then have the flamethrower hinged so it closes over them so they will be all but unnoticable. A bit of a cheat, but I'm on a tight time frame. ;) I'll work on the flamethrower housing tonight and then call it a day.

And Notlewis, I'm not working through the night, but I have spent 23 hours on this in the last 3 days. :wacko I'm taking tomorrow off to get this placed cleaned up and reconnect with the outside world (finally).

Just thought I'd let you guys know I am still working on this, but I had to take a break to work on some other costumes. I got the fabric for the flak vest yesterday and I'm going to start back up with giving this my full attention on Monday.

Alright so I worked all day today and got the flak vest and neck seal done. I also started putting dents into my chest armour and put together the backplate. Unfortunately, the cord for my camera is gone so I won't be able to post pictures until tomorrow but I guarantee that I will! Tomorrow I am going to get the chest armour painted and work on the dome for my helmet, then on Wednesday I will attach my armour to the vest. I am busy on Thursday but I will get back into it on Friday by putting in the visor and working more on the gauntlets.

Now that this is progressing further, does anyone know where I can get a flightsuit?

More progress today. I'm dialing it back a bit seeing as I've worked on it 24 hours in the last three days and I have more time than I thought I did. I'll probably just work a few hours every day from now on. I plan to put the dome in on Friday, which is terrifying. Are there any tips or tricks I should know before I attempt the Wizard of Flight dome?

I'm back!
I have been working more but every time I came here to post something else came up. Anyway, I've got the dome base in and I'm working on the bondo-ing right now.
Slow progress, but progress nonetheless.

So you made the flak vest yourself? It looks great! What fabric did you use and where did you get it? I've been trying to hunt down the perfect fabric but haven't found "the one" yet.

Awesome! I love the flak vest, I work near a fabricland, might have to check them out, everything looks great so far, good luck dude!
