i am building an EE-3 and would like any links you know of to good high res pics of the blaster and if anyone has finished models that they built i would love to see those too.
I suggest you look in the gallery where there are many, many excellent high res pics of the rotj weapon; one really couldn't ask for more. If your aim is esb then things are slightly more problematic as there are not so many great images however most of the main parts are known and so images of those parts will surely do. The unknown parts are:
The large barrel clamps.
The circular breach greeblie.
The centre stock greeblie.
You'll simply have to do your best with those the same as everyone else.
Nay worries brother. The known parts of the ESB weapon are:
1 x Webley and Scott number 1 mark 1 Flare Gun
Pretty rare and probably expensive. 1 x Micro Precision Products flashgun tube.
Pretty rare and probably expensive; photog specialists may well refuse to sell to you if they understand your end purpose. Seriously. 1 X 4 x 20 Scope 'Hunter' brand scope (probably) with infinity symbol including receiver rings and 'tall feet'. Other brands available.
Not too rare but probably expensive. 2 (probably) X Part 65 connecting rod from either a vintage Revell or Renwal Visible V8 engine model (the still produced Revell V8 model contains this same part so don't get hung up on a vintage one from 1977 or before).
Not rare at all for the modern model version and about £40 on ebay. The vintage version is rarer and typically more expensive. The only real difference betwixt the two models is that the old one has an electric motor and the new version is operated by a crank handle. 4 x Hirschmann LMK/AM Aerial/Earth Connectors (Model No. 730 851) for stock greeblies.
Pretty sure you can get these in the Cargo hold right now. 4 x Tyco Molex Connectors (part No. AMP 1-163035-0) for barrel greeblies.
Pretty sure you can get these in the Cargo hold right now as well.
The greeblies are expensive given what they are e.g. you need to buy the whole V8 model just to take two pieces of plastic around two inches in length from it.
