Get yourself a set of jewelers' files. They usually come in a sets of 6 or 8.
They're very small and come in different profiles. I like using the square and triangular
shapes for getting into really tight corners such as the ends of the visor and the
keyslots on the back of the helmet.
They're relatively cheap. I think I paid around $11 for a set at Ace Hardware years ago.
Well worth it!
Do you think these will work? I tried looking for "jeweler's files" but could only find actual jeweler's files... which it turns out are pretty expensive, like a couple hundred for a set of high quality files. Which could be nice to have, except I can do the same job with these needle files I found:
