TDH isn't really a costume building checklist: It's a community. There's a ton of good information, but historically the goal of the site has not been to just make a "how to build a Boba Fett" suit. Spending time here doing research and getting to know the people and the costumes is a big part of the overall experience.
Once you know your way around a bit you'll find that most of the info isn't hard to find. For example, go to the Boba Fett Helmet section and you'll find sticky threads with paint lists, templates and other useful things. Same under the Boba Fett Costume section. The gallery link at the top has every picture you could ever want for reference.
In my opinion, Boba and Jango are not costumes that lend themselves well to quick in-and-out visits.
Hello stormtrooperguy,
First of all You have very cool sites that I have been thumbing through. Great information and I like the vids too. Can't wait to go through it all and learn something.
But for your reply I do find your comments under some distress though.
As this site stated one of the reasons why I joined "TDH"
"Have you ever dreamed of building your very own movie quality Boba Fett costume from the Star Wars universe, but had absolutely no clue where to begin?"
"If so, then look no further. The Dented Helmet is a free online discussion forum and information archive specifically designed to help fans build high quality replica costumes of their favorite Star Wars based characters like Boba Fett, Jango Fett, Zam Wesell, and even Clone Troopers!
Whether you are a first timer or a seasoned convention costumer, TDH is here as a family-friendly community resource to provide assistance necessary for any skill level of fan to achieve their costuming goals.
If you've got passion for Boba Fett or Star Wars bounty hunters, the artistry and history behind their costumes, as well as a desire to see them brought to life by your own hands, then you sound like our kind of scum!"
I fully understand that this is not only a checklist for building costumes. I do see allot of information on here about building specific costumes. I do see all that joins building, buying, selling, or making some sort of costume or costume parts. The information is grand and spread over many post. As I have been seeing.
As a community I do see this too but as I have not been part of this community for very long and have not been in communication with any one here for more than a one or two brief post. Until last night when I started filling things out and posting I was not part of this community. I do however am very excited about the brief communication that I have had in my introduction post. I have might of found someone close to where I live to help me out and to guide me when needed. I sure did not think I would get lectured so soon for asking a simple question.
As any eager person to learn as I am I know asking questions and getting to know people and your surroundings is part of every day life. As far as in searching for information I am doing this too in consistent strides. I am learning my way around but do occasionally go to a post that i know of. Then to the page that I know where the information is (unless some one posted and moved it up or down the post) then refer to the information or post I was looking for.
I guess I am looking for is a way to bookmark the information on this site in a way like your favorites web sites. I do not haft to do a search when I know its in my favorites. I have all ready done the leg work to find it. When I am in need to refer to something I know, I point and click and then I am there. Scrolling through the information is just normal. But to be able to access the information from a place like a home page instead of navigating through post after post to get there every time would seem to be a greater ease of access.
Which in turn would leave me more time for conversation, comments, showoffs, builds, function with other potential TDH members, and anything else that the mind can imagine to be part of with this community.
I would hope that members that read this understand that I am new and just starting out. This is not a revolving door of in's-and-out's visits for me. I am wanting to learn, build and make friends as I am for sure anyone that has joined has considered. I am just looking for a convenient way to access information that I find here.
And enjoy the people and knowledge as they come.
Thanks for your concern and I hope you will find why I felt you post put me in a distress sense.
