I couldnt find any difinitive reference. And I didnt want to copy sidewinders. So I created my own, using parts I know are already on th gun. The following pic is with the original plug laid on it, and then one I ground down, to have rounded corners, correct thickness, and size. Youll see the difference. Input please before I create the plug.
EVERYTHING on the gun, is exactly the way it comes in the kit, just has some super glue holding it together. And a bit of brown whiped dry on the stock.
The bottom two have the double thick, extra wide border block on it. The top pics have the thin border, rounded block. Only 4mm size difference area, and 1mm thickness, but makes a huge difference in the end.
I like it. Im making a mold of all 3 sizes. as theres different theories of which 'size' is correct, and mouting the scopes for silicone. They are gonna be tough to make. But I think finally, I have an idea of how they will be both acurate (except for a brace underside you cant really see) and very functional to secure the scope rigidly (thanks to the brace!)
Ill post a pic of my mold idea tomorrow after my tourney, and see what you guys think.
Im hoping to pull some of these kits monday, to ship tuesday when the post office opens.
So if anyone is sure they want a greeble kit and or gun, better speak up! Cause once I finish this, and get these out, i think im retired from guns
ok here the master I whipped up this morning. need to make a mold, then sand down some spots, then make anothermold. Or maybe leave it like this, the roughness adds distress.
I realize its off a bit. But i used mostly parts from the v8 kit, and I wanted to get it done.
I still think its closer than whats out there, at least that I have seen. What do you guys think?
its already in the rubber. I put accelerator in it. May be pulling these tomorrow to ship monday. The scope mounts are done too. Though I need a second mold. ill make that tonight, so i can pull them tomorrow.
So basically what im saying, is the kits done and ready to ship.
