Rubies Westars - a few Q's

I've heard that these are terrible things, but many use these as a base, modding them and repainting to be more accurate. i'm thinking of going down this path as they are quite easy to get.

before i do... I have some questions:

a) does anyone have a comparison photo of the rubies and MR westars side by side, to show the difference in scale/accuracy?

b) what are the main differences?

c) does anyone have progress photos of rubies westars being 'upgraded'?

I've done a little of my own research into this, overlayed a pic of the rubies toy over the template Wizardofflight posted up recently.heres the result. the grip is pretty close but the barrel needs lengthening and quite a bit of re-work.

note that I havent verified the scale of the rubies yet, if someone can give me an accurate length that would be helpful.
