I find the testors small can of Dullcote seems to work the best - not sure why, I've tried a few others and it just dries the best weather's the best - dunno just my 2 p

I concur. I use this on everything. A better but more complicated option is the Testors Dullcoat Lacquer applied with a Preval sprayer (if no airbrush is available)
I haven't ever found anything (in the US) that's flatter than Testors dull coat. It's an excellent product.
Polly Scale clear flat is very effective, too, but it requires an airbrush and will give just the faintest "fading" effect when sprayed on.
