It did go quickly, that was mainly due to the fact that the pieces were all pre-fit, drilled and it was all ready to go with minimal prep work and I don't have much else to do since I tore my bicep.
I had been anxiously awaited the arrival of this piece so I had a game plan in my mind as to how I wanted to accomplish the assembly and finish. I would say that the toughest part was to get a real wood look to the stock, that took a few different layers and techniques until I was satisfied with the finish. My favorite part was finishing the action, chamber and barrel to look like old weathered blued steel. I have a piece of full grain leather lined up for a sling and that should finish it off.
Now to button a few loose ends up in preparation for submission to the 501st.
