Spanner Murraan
New Hunter
Hey all
Some of you may have seen my first Mando attempt. It is my Mandalorian Combat mechanic, Aaray "Spanner" Murraan. This is the kit I used and have trooped it as part of the Mandalorian Mercs Costuming Club, and as Alor'ad of the Murraan Clan.
Well today I started on "Spanner Murraan Mark II - Bigger, beefier, burlier! I used my own Stencils and I am doing sort of a Modern Era/Legacy Era hybrid for this build.
I Started with 6" PVC pipe and traced the stencils on. I did A rough cut and then final cut.
I used a heat gun and another scrap piece of PVC as a buck to smooth and shape the breast plate. I also traced the design of the chest insignia.
I used a dremel to cut reliefs in to denote the shapes of gorget and individual armor plates. I also used the dremel to carve out the Cog shape a bit and to bevel the edges of the plate. I have a real steel cog that I will be inlaying in the chest then carving a reeks head into the center (Murraan Clan sigil)
here is the final fitting before i start final sand and Fit and Finish.
This will be a long time work in Progress, hoping to have it completed by Wizard World Austin in November. More to come. Thanks for looking.
