Hi guys,
I don't think I've ever posted here, so it's a pleasure to finally have something worthy of this forum. However, I've been a long time lurker and the work here is great!
Well, I'm considering putting together a Llats Ward suit for this year's San Diego CC and was wondering what flack vest was thought best to use for this suit: leather Jango vest or Boba style vest?
Thanks to some great guys and very good friends of mine (Slavefive, Postmortem, and Dark-Side), I'm starting out with the items pictured below, and will build from there over the next months. In the pic is a screen cast Jango helmet, some seconds from my Jango gauntlet run, and a Hyperfirm Lewis gun. The gun was generously given to me by Slavefive as a gift for helping him with some home repairs, and is so awesome that it's probably the #1 reason I chose to build this suit...so I could troop with it.
I've already talked to BM about an ROTJ jumpsuit, as well as BKBT about some Jango upper body armor...both look like they're a GO! I also plan to use a second of one of my Jango backplates, and would like to get either a pair of Star Fortress ESB Boba boots or find a pair of black leather alternates. I'd like to stay with leather for the boots. I also have a pair of Seeker Jango knees, however, I think it'd be neat to also have a pair of MOW's rubber Boba knees to be more accurate with the toy figure. I'm also hoping to pick up some nice WWII leather pouches for the girth belt, and the pouches seen on the left shoulder. Other than that, small things like shin tools, gloves, cape, etc. look to be easy to come by with stuff found around town.
Let me know if any of that doesn't seem like the right choice/s to accurately bring this character to life and possible 501st approval. And any advice and opinions about the flack vest or anything else for that matter...like the cylindrical looking things on the ab-plate...is much appreciated!
Included a pic robbed from ebay of the figure I'm using as my only reference. I need to pick up one on ebay for hands-on studying.
Thanks and I look forward to working on this project here!
