Small update:
The cold weather is not helping at all with the test pulls, but I'll keep trying and should be able to offer cold-cast versions after it starts to heat up a bit outside.
PM sent for interest on regualr cast gauntlets but it looks like I jumped the gun seeing as how I just read that you will soon post the official interest thread. Sorry, I got to excited with the update.
Here's a sneak preview. It's a rough cast with many blemishes, but I used it just to see how it'd polish. Then I scuffed it up a bit to see how it stood up to scratching. It was a little soft, so I'll need to increase the catalyst a bit next time. The cold-cast is going to take a bit more work and a lot more attention than gel-coat.
The first pic is with flash. Tomorrow I'll take an outside pic in the sun.
Also, pics of something I made for fun. It's a Hyper-firm missile made of "nerf" foam like material. It can be bent and then returns to its original shape. My son and I were throwing it around earlier today in the house and when it hit a window, it bounced right off.
I was thinking a projectile chore reminder for my son! I'd like to cast jet pack rockets with some of this stuff and then rig them to shoot with compressed air.
Cold-cast pic in clouded sunlight. Best I'll be able to do today.
This morning I went out and bought a small portable heater. And today I'll build a "hot box" for it that'll fit the gauntlet shell molds so I can speed up the cold cast's curing process.
