Today is day 50 of the project and I've hit a milestone--all basic painting on the main helmet is done!
I finished the vertical part of the right mandible, as well as carved in all of the physical damage.
From here, I'll begin the "effects" painting on the helmet. This includes the pale contrasting gray, the white thumbprints, some pastel weathering,
the "grease stains" on the back of the dome, and the spatter. As far as the ears go, all the parts have been base coated for a while now and I can
begin the detail painting on them. So it's getting there! Still a good amount to do, but the end is in sight.
