ESB Boba Fett Gauntlets Build

FamousFett

Hunter
Finished up these MOW gauntlets, they turned out great I think. I still need to add the hose and hose attachment piece but other than that they are done!

*Edit* I added some photos of what the clips on the inside look like, also the red on the darts and light switch button should be a deeper red so I fixed that too.

This is super helpful since I'm working on this same piece by MOW right now and yours looks great. Can I ask a few questions?

1) I notice you also have some small bubbles in the casting. How did you deal with this on the exterior? Bondo? Filler Primer?

2) Did you hot glue the piano hinge into the gauntlet or is that epoxy?

3) Any chance I could get a close up of the latching strap bit and how that goes together?

4) What type of paints did you use?

Thanks!

Very nice! On the front of the whipcord unit, get yourself some copper!
Thanks! Yeah that's what I've been told needs to be there, in some images I've seen it looks white and I've seen one where it does look like a copper piece, I suppose I'll put that there though since a few people have said it needs to be there haha

Glad I could help!

And for the tiny bubble holes on the outside you can use some sandpaper or your dremel tool, also once you put some paint primer on thatll fill in some of those tiny holes as well, for the hinges I got them in place with hot glue and then used epoxy to hold them down and I used clamps to hold them in place while the epoxy dried, I plan on taking some bondo and putting that over the hinges to really make sure it doesnt come apart, and for paint I used model masters panzer olive green mixed with a little bit of light blue. And yeah I can send you some photos, when you buy the man of war gauntlets though itll come with detailed instructions on how to assemble everything :) hope this helps!

It really did thank you. I have the gauntlets in hand and I’ve read the directions he included I was just having trouble visualizing what the end-state should look like.

Thanks again!

Yeah they were kind of confusing for me as well, especially the flamethrower haha. I had to look at multiple pictures online of the built flamethrower so that I could see how it goes. Glad i was able to help!

I see the hinges but how did you connect the other sides of the gauntlets to close them together?
There are clips on the inside almost like a buckle type system, the originals have velco though, at least on the “ROTJ” gauntlets on the exhibition costume you can see they used Velcro so I assume the esb ones were made the same way

I'm impressed that you worked with the imperfections in the mold (y) I chose to return and go with Daz. Didn't want to deal with filling them lol
Thanks man! Ever since I learned that the originals were made from just being vacuum formed with plastic I don’t want the all resin man of war gauntlets anymore

The rectangular section (with the black bump near the hose connector) is narrower at the back correect? On some armor it appears symetrical an not tapered. Whis id screen accurate? Can anyone chime in?
