Hi all

Noticed this guy copied my listing word for word (direct copy and pasted from my listing), I asked him nicely to alter his listing since it's in breach of ebay rules, plus I don't want anyone mistaking his listings for mine (due to it being annoying plus his helmet looks terrible and I wouldn't want anyone thinking it's one of mine!), but he responded saying "what difference does it make?" amongst other insults. Reported him and his listings to ebay so hopefully they'll take them down, but in the mean time i'd add him to your block lists as he's obviously an idiot. One to avoid!

Here's a couple of my listings (1st one is my latest one which he copied)

and here's his:

yep, he refused to alter his listing either and was pretty rude with it, so not only is he lazy (and possibly attempting to con people into thinking they're buying from me), he's also terrible to deal with.

eBay kinda lets you copy other listings that are similar to the item(s) you're selling. I wonder if he did that and decided to be rude about it.

They don't let you copy listings, it's in the listing practices:

You're not allowed to use the following if you're not authorised to do so by the owner, its agent or the law:

  • Photos and text from other eBay users
  • Photos and text copied from websites
  • Scans from catalogues or advertisements

He honestly may not know anything about the helmet to put in the description. Which would lead me to believe that he's just trying to scam people as razorsharp thinks. Either way you look at it this guy is handling this wrong.

I briefly looked at this and his other (ROTJ) helmet listing and to me it came across like someone selling off his collection rather than someone in the helmet business. If he was copying photos and representing that he was selling your items when he wasn't then that would be a bigger issue but it didn't read to me that he was trying to masquerade as you. Could just be laziness.
