Dual Internal Hinges on Gauntlets

I dislike the look of the external hinge and am using MOW newest version of gauntlets. I like the look of the dual internal hinge. I'm not sure when people reference Velcro closures of that is Velcro with an external hinge or Velcro somehow on both sides? Or do you have to overlap them.

Any negative experiences with ,or reason not to use, the dual internal hinge/pin method?
