Alright, well I just fiberglassed (mostly just resin) the helmet. I added resin and actual matt to the dome, but pretty much just resined the rest of the helmet. This is because, well, I didnt think I needed to add the cloth all the way around, and plus, the paper is sturdy enough as it is to hold its shape, so that when the resin cures, it will remain as such.
I added matt to the dome just because thats like the "focal point" of the whole thing. If the dome's shape should alter in any way or be crushed, the helmet will not look right or will be redered usless for the project. So thats currently curing right now.
So the next issue Ive been thinking about is the front portion, thats below the frown, where the areators and the chin design are located. The problem is that, on this helmet, it flows with the whole helmet, and does not recess into it. This is a problem, because I need to "indent" the whole section so that I can, using the clay, create the dentations for the areators and the lip that goes over it.
I didnt resin that portion, because Im thinking of cuttin it out after I fill it with expanding foam and just sculpt it from there. Im not sure yet..
