I've been playing with the idea of building my own costume for years...finding most costumes too expensive and always intrigued by the talent and resourcefulness that goes into scratch builds.
Finally I have a friend that moved closeby who built his own Ghostbusters proton pack who not only inspired me to build my own, but offered his artistic expertise. initially I started with the wof fett helmet, after all the bondo and sanding, it got destroyed in a recent move, so I ended up purchasing one. nonetheless, it's primed, painted, and started weathering. I've also started the wof jetpack build, getting as far as sanding to this point. I hope to post some pics and certainly need the expertise of this site.
having just painted the helmet, I've left the range finder off, having the ambition to build a working range finder with servo and lights. I think I'll post the question of best places to find kits for this or instructions on building my own.
