Hi everyone.

I literally just found this site and just registered, but I'll spend more time looking around and getting the lay of the land. I've always wanted to build *something* armour-like from Star Wars. At first Boba Fett was the greatest, and then I was really impressed with Jango Fett, but also been a big fan of the Imperial Guard. I recently just got two Lego Imperial Guards for my birthday :) So not really sure what will be my first build. If I get around to it. I have very little building skill and two small kids and no free time!

However, if, let's say I wanted to start with a simple Jango Fett helmet: How on earth do I measure my head and start with a base? I just watched a bunch of videos on Worbla, and might start a first try with foam or at least use it as a template. I also saw one video where the base was made of cardboard.

Any suggestions would be great. I know there are some templates on here, but I'd like to know about measuring my head too.

I printed the templates out on cardstock first to try them on my head. It worked well as I could print to different scales, and it gave me the confidence to start building as I have a big head and didn't fit in some of the helmets I've attempted to try on before.

Thanks for the tip Ralf. I'm cutting some pieces of the armour out of art / craft foam, so I may try the same with the helmet.
