Want to make my first bucket

Well I'm new just joined up, and I have been looking around to getting a feel for the place and now that I have I want to try my hand at making a custom bucket from pretty much scratch, only think is not sure where i should start and if anyone can give me some tip and/or pointers i would thank you eternally.

The wizard of flight templates on this site are a good place to start. Then you have to decide which materials you wish to use. Check out some WIP threads for helmets to get a feel for what medium you might be comfortable using.

I'm working on my own first bucket right now, and I gotta say, the Wizard of Flight templates are amazing! Once I got everything cut out, it went together almost as easy as legos LOL! Well, not quite, but I was amazed at how easy it was to assemble into a helmet, and at how thorough the template was. WoF is GOOD, with a capital G.
