I've been looking for a better alternative to the standard black. I tried a nomex hood, but it wouldn't dye. I was talking about it to a friend at a local autobody paint shop and he suggested a paint hood. These are worn when painting cars, and they are all cotton. Best part, they are about $2. Nothing to lose, right?
It took dye well , and it got it pretty close to matching my suit color. I cut the face opening bigger for better ventilation, and also cut some from the back. You will need to re-sew the edges so they dont fall apart. It basically covers just up past my jaw in the front, and half way up the back of my head in the back.. The small amount left around the top will keep it up and stop it from slipping. My camera is gone today, I'll post up some pictures tommorrow. I'm pleased with the outcome. Just in time for SDCC/
