Superjedi's FPH2 for Slynger

Wow! Looks amazing. I can't say it enough, but your attention to detail and the tiny color differences is amazing!

Someone mentioned snow, where are you located? We just got over a cold snap of -25 to -30. It hit the low teens today and I had to put shorts on.

Thanks. :)
I'm in Newport News, VA. It's close to Norfolk. We usually get snow maybe a handful of times every winter but getting 9 inches or so in one storm is out of the ordinary.

I took a day off from work today. The roads around here still are pretty crappy so I have a snow day, lol.

It's giving me some Fett time though, and I finished the left cheek. Here are a couple of shots.

As I always point out in my paint up threads, this is an area where there's another unique color. There's a gray along the outer edge
of the inner cheek that's a bit darker and greener than the gray found everywhere else on the helmet. In all the time I've looked through
reference pics I've never seen this gray anywhere else on the lid.

Once this is all nice and dry I'll be able to mask everything off and lay down the red for the mandibles!

Thanks. :)

Working on the damage on the red areas now. I got the keyslots done, and I have laid in the gray on the band
above the keyslots. I work the rear half of the band in 3 sections: middle, left, and right.

I work topically and I know it looks kind of weird when a section is just being started, lol. But once the darker maroon/purple
and silver are worked in, the section will look right. That'll be coming within the next day or so.

Thanks! Clmayfield, it's years of practice! :)

Got the center section of the band complete. Here's an overall view.

Along with a closer look. Three main passes with the main colors, then the addition of a few tiny specks and chips.

I'll do the left section next.

Glad you're liking it so far. :)

I finished the left and right sections of the band, so now everything behind the ear platforms is done. Well, except for the final weathering passes.

On the left side, the addition of the white thumbprints will change the appearance slightly. The white streaks back and gives a portion of the band
a kind of whitewashed look. But that will come at the end along with things like the pale contrasting gray and some pastel weathering.

Next I'll begin working on the front portions. So Fett will slowly begin to acquire a "face." :)

I've been working on the brow area and I got the left half finished.
I break this into 2 sub-sections: the area at the corner of the visor opening, and the area that stretches from around the first killstripe
to the turn signals. Since the majority of my paint ups are screen used as opposed to SE, the damage doesn't include the famous
"crack repair" at the corner of the visor.

I've also left out the so-called incidental damage. Damage that occurred after filming over the years.

I'll begin the right half next. (y)

Thanks, all. :)

I completed the brow area today. So as far as basic painting goes, it's down the mandibles themselves.

I have also painted the RF ear arch. The ears have been base coated for a bit now and I'll be able to start detailing
them once the mandibles are complete.

These helmet paint ups are really getting my fervor going to start another helmet. I haven't painted one in over a year now.

Your work is looking good.
