Hi!
As some of you know, I made an ESB style painted Boba Fett helmet from scratch and you can find it here http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f23/my-boba-fett-helmet-using-antmans-building-tips-39024/.
Now I want to start another helmet build... this time in a smaller scale. As I done with my first helmet, this one will be made using WOF's templates combined with Skip's Papekura design and Rich D.'s paints and scratches.
You may ask "Why to do this small sized helmet? What is the purpose of this?" Well, I guess a small helmet like this is good to put it in your car, or put it on your PC or Mac monitor or wherever you like it...
Here is the helmet:
Oups! This is my life-sized helmet... Here is the one I'm talking about:
And here is the height of the helmet in centimeters:
The ears of the helmet and the rangefinder are so small that some of you will curse me for those parts... But this is the beauty of it. If you want a good looking helmet, you must do the best of you.
As you can see on the dome, there are some raw scratches and the 2D dent. This was drawn on the dome to get a first look on where to put those nasty scratches on the dome templates. Here are the templates in black/white and in color (these are not the final templates):
Here is the dome made after I reprinted with the scratches drawn:
And here is a small mistake I made:
I made this small rangefinder without checking the right dimensions. But it turned out really well. This will be a future smallest helmet project? Well, we can never tell...
Next step will be to make the helmet with the coloured templates to see if this need further adjustments. Then I will make the dome scratches and the dome in 3D. Then I must do the colouring of the rangefinder.
Until next time...
Respect!
