Help with card stock

i'm havin trouble tryin to replicate the helmet using WOF plans in a similar manner to (http://405th.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1648
) these guys using (http://www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en/
)

I thought i'd try a similar approach and found that I'm getting major dent's in the card stock, trying to assemble the WOF plans as seen here(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyrnZm2KioU
) the only dent's are in the visor portion of the helmet and I'm thinking that I just might try the (For sale sign approach) but I thought that someone here could help with the card stock approach...

anyone of the talented guy's here's help would be greatly appreciated.

I used thicker cardboard like what is on the back of a spiral notebook. I used the backs of desk calendars, which measure approx. 24"x36". Get it damp with a rag or sponge, and it can be curved without creases. If you can't get thicker card, just use spray adhesive to double up the card and use a double thickness on the areas that are prone to collapsing or warping.

For two out of the three that I've built so far, I used cereal box cardboard and found that it worked out just fine.</p>
To avoid any creases or dents, just work it slowly/gently into place. I personally found that a good understructure worked wonders, so I used hardboard for the top and bottom rings.

If you're going for cardboard . . . get newspaper board from your local craft store . . . they should have it. It was suggested to me to use 1/16th but I found that to be too difficult to shape . . . go with the thin stuff. I'll be posting pictures of my bucket soon . . . once I figure out a decent way to do the ears.
