FETT PRIDE cc WIP ; )

Ok guys- As planned I was able to work on both cheeks ; ) today. I used a method very similar to Fett 4 reals however, w/ a slight twist. Once the silver was masked I lightly misted dark grey primer. Once that dried I masked those bits and sprayed a combo of greens then masked the "lighter green" areas. I then VERY CAREFULLY misted again. Once that dried I removed the masking fluid unveiling the lighter areas. Although, there is still a bit of detailing I will be doing along w/ deadland doing some finishing work w/ his airbrush I am pretty happy w/ the finish at this point. Below are a few photos of this process.
Also, I have documented this whole build step-by-step on a word document if anyone is interested I will post that?

Drum roll please! Well, almost anyway ; )...Minus the back vent, the ears (which have minimal work for ROTJ), the RF and deadlands final black wash and detail this bad boy is darn near complete..I just couldnt wait to post pics! A special thanks goes out to Fett 4 real for his super keene eye and attention to detail, Stormtrooperguy for his insiteful thread, jinto for his insite and expertise and deadland for his expertise and support. Overall, Im pretty happy w/ my first Fett! Thanks guys and stay tuned for the absolute finished product!

Dude that thing looks great you did a fine job on it and should be proud can't wait to see it up close and personal!!!!

Hey buff Fett, This is how I do my ROTJ and other Sandy painted ears
I think with the ears you should tape the rest of the helmet andplace the helmet on the ground (do this on a large drop sheet of on the grass )with the left ear facing up and from 5 feet above spray your gray then some black then a brown , do this a few times and it will build up over spray and then go around with a file or sand paper on the edges andd try recreate the scratch patern on the ears when dry do the same to the other side

LOL - Hey guys, great thanks! Yes, I did hit them w/ the dark grey primer and was able to get a "quasi-pattern" that looks pretty good, although not screen acurate. So, that being said, I will go back and do as you guys suggested as the ears are definately less labor intensive. I need some RF assistance..anyone have advice? Also, got woodchucks helmet stands and they look awesome..will post pics later.
Thanks
B

Hey BG-Ill post some pics of it..it came w/ and alluminum rod and resin parts that need to be trimmed and sanded if this helps? How do I put together, and what do I use..epoxy etc?
Thanks
B

I use a dab of superglue...paint the inside silver and the outside silver...let it dry paint black on the outside....but leave the silver inside...so the clear resin doesnt look dark
