It's really not a bad article, in fact it's pretty accurate. What makes Fett awesome is the fact that he's mysterious, but when you start putting a backdrop to him and start going on tangits about his origins of his life, armor and so on.. you take away the very thing the makes him who he is, if fact they've tapped into him sooooo much that the only thing now is removing the Helmet PLEASE GOD DON'T LET THAT HAPPEN!!!! and if it has I DON'T WANT TO KNOW!!!!
The article is right to an extent. I don't really have any problem with Boba Fett in any of the films. But his presence in the post-ROTJ EU is bordering on ridiculous.
I hate what EU has done to the Fett-man, just as I hate what it has done to our heroes of the Original Trilogy. Really, how many times has Boba been sent to the belly of that freaking Sarlaac? Or Luke, Han, and Leia fighting the Emperor over and over several years after Vader threw him down into the core of the Death Star? Most of these EU writers are rather pathetic and unoriginal.
I have to agree!!! I thought it was well written article as well. I would have been perfectly fine with his appearance in the OT & thats it. I don't mind a few of the comics, but most of the EV stuff ruins the Fett mystery for me. I know alot of folks like Jango, but the fact is, they put a face to boba fett by stating that he is a clone, and I would have rathered that they had not done that. I don't want to know what he looks like.

Personally I disagree with everything said. Learning the origin and past of a character does not ruin it, and Boba's is actually interesting. It simply opens paths to more stories. Except for Invincible where Denning had no clue how to write mandalorians, I thought LOTF with fett was fricking sweet. It brought in some characters I've come to like from the Republic Commando books, it gave Fett some depth that he lacked before, and explained why a constant loner would take on leadership of a whole planet. Everything is in the writing, I'm all for more Fett stories, I love most of them. I get sick of picking up a SW book/comic and the jedi simply come sweeping in, use the force and solve it. It's nice to see that his knowledge of how to kill a jedi was actually of value. It was also nice to see him doing something other than chase han solo around the galaxy. Personally I hate to get to like a character alot and never hear/read/learn about them again. It's a good thing to get to read about how he deals with what he is, that he saw his dad die and how he feels /deals with it. but again that's just my opnion
My .02 rant is that the article is pointing out the fact the "big greed machine" has pretty much over taken the mystery behide the Boba Fett character.I remeber when I frist saw him on the big screen how cool this character is who only is in the film for maybe 5 mins?
Based off this one character now there is a entire culture with its own language, history and ofcourse "dance".
Due in part that Lucas gave this character to the EU crowd to develop the back/future story on Boba. He(GL) has mentioned in numerous interveiws that if he knew how popular Boba was going to be he would not have killed Boba off like he did.
Do I agree that the character is ruined as mentioned in the article??No,not to me.I will always look at Boba the same way like I did in 1980 when I saw ESB that summer afternoon. Is this character over hyped????Yes,if you mention anyhting Star Wars I guarantee Boba is mention right after Vader if not before.Infact how many times if you catch wind of a new Star Wars item do you think,"did they make a Boba version??"and yes I am just as guilty of that with feeding into the "boba machine" expect for spending the level of money some do.I just like looking at the pretty stuff I just can"t buy them.
To try to get back on point I dont think that article is hating on Boba Fett.Sorry to have been long winded with my reply
Return of the Jedi was great, but those writers just went and made our heroes suffer when it felt like they should have lived 'happily ever after.' They're fighting lamer and lamer villans, Boba ditches his wife and kid and is stalking Han, Luke's wife is killed by Leia and Han's emo son, Chewbacca gets squished by a moon, AND THE EMPIRE STILL WON'T FREAKIN DIE!
I like some EU, freakin' love Knights of the Old Republic and Tales of the Jedi, but most EU I find to be total bantha ****.
