A memebr on another board was generous enough to send me a cowl he's had for a while.

It's a Bronze Armory Begins cowl.... normally $325 +$14 shipping and I got it for free...... I don't know how my luck has done this.

the next pic was after I took the mask off:

notice the sudden grey hairs.

it's pretty dang tight. Almost broke my nose putting it on and getting it off. Had to have my mom help me remove it..... pulling on the ears does not help, BTW.

Just wanted to share my new aquisition......

how do I look in a Begins cowl? Dependant on that, I might start the rest of the suit...

Hey....Your all sweaty in that second pic. :p Looks awsome man! wish I could fit my gigantic head/hair in one to see how I looked.

okay... bit of a problem..... I snapped some new pics last night with the top and cape... it doesn't look right.

I tried trimming a problem area with advice from other costumers on the LoH...... well...... I need somethign to patch this thing with.....

The cowl is urethane... would a tire patch work?

Did you seriously cut a $300 cowl with no experience? Urethane doesn't like to stick with urethane. You're probably out of luck in that area because you're going to need to buy more urethane and HOPE you can get it to work. I think the cheapest kit of urethane is about $75. Maybe you could send it to someone on BOTB you trust, but otherwise I just hope you didn't cut it too much.

Brin Londo said to use small cudicle scissors....we happened to have a pair.
Not my fault they were dull.

BTW..... since this is the urethane version.... it's actually a $400 cowl. :(

What section exactly were you trying to cut out?? It looks like it is repairable however you will probably need to paint it afterwards to cover any joins, I'm no expert when it comes to urethane though

Well, it appears that the electric tape is holding strong. I can put it on and take it off and there is no pressure on that area of the cowl. It still irritates a little, but I can soldier through if it meants wearing the mask.

I guess it's not that bad afterall.......

LONG LIVE THE BEGINS!!!

Well, I figured that it was good enough to pass inspection by a passing fan... and that's 90% of the population.... and the tape on it would identify me to the other 10%...

Brin offered but for soem strange reason, I don't want to send it out. It's one of those "I have it, so I'm going to keep it in my sight" moments.

Nothign against Brin, it's jsut that I think it adds it's own little charm.....

Now, if I could only figure out what part of the cowl is scrathcing my nose....

You may be able to use cyanoacrylate glue (superglue) to fix the tear. Some epoxy products are also designed for materials like that, you just need to read the back to see what it's rated for.
