GOOD AFTERNOON fellow Dent-heads. We're hours away from the release of the much anticipated Battlefield 4...Having said that, I'd like to put out a public recruitment for The Dented Helmet Battlefield 4 Platoon, started by TDH legend and all-around swell guy Scott Kaufmann. We've already got a Facebook page (search "The Dented Helmet Battlefield 4 Platoon" in Facebook) as well as a platoon-owned TeamSpeak 3 Server. Here's a grab from our platoon's page description:
"The platoon's founders Rick Ponte and Scott Kaufmann, both involved members of The Dented Helmet, have been tired of the lone-wolf mentality that's plagued Battlefield for the past few years and wanted to create a group of like-minded individuals who want to win games through teamwork and coordination. Ponte's experience as a former Army Infantry squad-leader and Kaufmann's handling of many of the game’s weapons in real life promise to create a tactical and efficient environment for anyone that wants to experience Battlefield 4 the way it was meant: Multiple, specialized squads working in tandem to get the job done.
While the platoon's success runs on the ability of players to communicate, follow squad-leaders' orders and keep alert, we are definitely NOT a league-competitive clan...nor... are we sticklers for mandatory practices and matches. As it is, we just try to get as many involved to have fun with running tactical ops and pull off joint-effort match wins. We fully understand that most of us work a 9-5 (or 7-5), have kids, school, etc. so we absolutely do NOT want to create a hectic environment. This platoon should be a hobby, not a life commitment that other clans tend to push for.
Long-Term Goal: In the next few months, I'd like to see this platoon formed into a buzzing, motivated community of gamers (both from the forums and not) organized into multiple squads, each having a designated, specialized purpose. These roles can change at any time and are highly flexible, but I want to get our platoon to a point where we can seamlessly integrate 1-2 ground force Infantry squads, a heavy weapons squad, an armored (tank) squad, and an air support squad (helo transport, gunship support, jet bombing, etc).
Using an external VOIP client (Teamspeak 3) we can have a platoon leader or commander delegating to squad leaders, who will then relay the info to their squads using the in-game VOIP to issue orders and cut down on chatter. After a few weekends of getting to know each other and fall into a rhythm, the tactics will become second nature, and I really feel like we’ll be a force to be reckoned with.
I’m excited to see us grow, and I can’t wait for the full release of the game. I see big things for us in the future, but most importantly: we are going to have A LOT of fun. See you on the Battlefield…"
If you're interested, shoot me a PM or find us on Facebook.
