    WIP: ESB MOW Rocketpack

Here's what I've been working on over my spring break. Obviously I'm not done yet but I'd say I'm about 80% there. Please offer comments and critique of how I can improve my paintjob.

Thanks F4R glad to hear it. I've used your photos from your paintups in conjunction with the blurry ref photos from the Bespin shots to help place things

Yeah I don't see any way around it. I'm gonna handpaint it with acrylic and then do some topical silver with testor's bottle paint. The combo has worked well in the past. Then just seal with dullcote when I'm all done to keep the acrylic from scraping off.

I like it. I don't know if this would be appropriate or not (haven't done too much homework on ESB) but if you could make the corners and areas where different shapes meet just a little dirtier (as if grime or residue has built up in the hard to reach areas after so many bounties), I think that would make it pop a little more. But that could be inaccurate...

Hope this helps somewhat. Keep it up!

This is one of the best shots I've found of the pack. Boba Fett Empire Strikes Back Costume - The Dented Helmet Gallery

It's inconclusive on the weathering to say the least but I think I've pushed the rust factor pretty far on this one already. I haven't seem many people's replicas use any black weathering really.

Here's todays updates. I'm pretty sure all that's left is to do the yellow detail on the tops of the rocket-y thingys and the missile collar. Let me know if I missed anything.

Thanks man, I'm excited too! I've been getting so close to finishing this costume, that's one of the last pieces.

I remember you doing that in one of your threads and I considered it when I did the original cleanup of the jetpack but I think I opted out b/c I had no way of getting the resin shavings out of the hollow rocket and I knew they would drive me insane

Its easy to do... I don't think I have any shavings in mine. I made the holes after I painted too.

    Re: WIP: ESB MOW Rocketpack

Thanks you guys the compliments are really appreciated from the vets on here. Guess I'll give the holes a go clonecollector, I drilled holes for the beacon/ stabilizer last night and all the shavings went out instead of in. I think it'll work out

Here's some shots from fitting the harness and us divers buckle strap last night. I think the placement looks pretty good. Thoughts?
