ObitomoFett's ROTJ Hero build

ObitomoFett

Jr Hunter
I seem to ask a lot of questions on the boards so I've decided it's time I make a thread, I'll post pictures on what I've finished so far and maybe some build stuff if I get into some trouble.

But I'll also link my build thread on my local Garrison as well so you can read the details.

So far my parts are these:

Helmet: animefan FPII
Flightsuit, gloves, pouches, spats, vest, neckseal: Bobamaker
Armor: TBA RS Prop Masters
Cape: I think it's a TK409
Boots: caboots with alum spikes
Chest lights: an old set of Fettronics
Braids: Molon Labe Studios
Jetpack: NME body, Bobamaker rocket and thrusters, Rafalfett 3D parts and NME parts.
Girthbelt: Mohair Centaur girth belt
Ammobelt: MOW
Helmet lights: Jaycar (Australian electronics store)
Shintools: a mix of RafalFetts models and others, including an aluminium part.
Blaster: mixed 3D print
Jetpack harness: Bigdane

Still need:
Gauntlets: TBA

I guess to rattle off my questions.

Does anyone know a good seller for Abs or HIPS armour, I was thinking of getting Cucblack armour but want to know everyone's opinion on his armour. Nice guy overall, but read some bad stuff on his fibreglass pieces. I however just want the hips stuff he sells.

Also does anyone own Wickedbeard gauntlets and can tell me the quality and feel?

I very recently got a pair of wickedbeard gauntlets from another member.

They are a lot heavier than I expected, but I love the realistic feel it provides. They're a bit loose, but my forearms are skinny. Nothing a bit of foam won't fix.

I'm impressed with how accurate and well crafted they are. I'm fairly new to all this, but I really like them.

I'll try to post some pictures of them soon if that would help. Did you have any specific questions about them?

How much did they run you? Where they second hand.
Did they come with electronics or anything?

Pictures would be Amazing! :)

Need tips for weathering, don't really want to use airbrush techniques so any rattlecan or tube paint washes please throw them at me!

Sorry, busy day today. I'll grab pictures for you tomorrow when I get off work.

I didn't paint and weather them either. Sorry, not much help on that one.

Anyone else have links to the most helpful threads on TDH? I'm sure this question been asked before...?

I meant weathering for soft parts, but I rattled it down to acrylic water based tube pants, with a mix of grey and black rattle in some areas, charcoal in some as well and a bit of dirt.

So sorry dude, never uploaded the pics.

Here are the pics of the wickedbeard gauntlets.

Hope it's not too late to be helpful...

Finally a day off. Here are the pics

Inside has a rubber mat material that helps keep the gauntlet in place, no sliding around my wrist. I peeled back some duct tape on the left gauntlet to reveal a small compartment for the led battery.

Hope that helps

The rubber mat is the same thing I did and it works really well to stop it all twisting around, a small strip of velcro can help to (y)
