Can anyone give me some guidance on how to attach the collar piece and back plate as well? I imagine after I get that going, it'll be a lot easier to determine where to make the slits for the jet pack harness.

Also, how do you attach the shoulder armor to the vest? And the wookie scalps?

Can anyone provide some info on how far apart the chest pieces should be?

The collar armor and the backplate just attach with the 2 studs on each side, on the top of the shoulders.
I used magnets to attach the armor but there are a few different methods. It should be easy to find them in the forums.
I used a pin underneath the wookie braids and attached it to the vest (above where the shoulder armor sits).
I don't have an exact measurement for the chest armor placement at hand, but if you look at the reference photos, you should be able to eyeball it pretty closely.

I have screws that go up through my black plate, through the collar armor and are threaded into my studs. I used a BooBooFett tutorial for my armor. Screws jb welded to the armor plates that go through metal grommets on my vest. A lot of work upfront punching the grommets but very secure.

I had someone hold the backplate against me wearing the vest and use a pencil to draw lines where the harness straps should emerge.

I also have the four studs (two on each collar armor) but they are decorative only. I use velcro. I was trying to do it the canon way but the screws wouldn't go through the thickness of RKD armor. They're screwed from the bottom of the collar armor only into the studs.

Another safety pin guy for the Wookie braids here as well. As for the shoulder I used snaps, one on the front, one on the back.

In addition, I use velcro on the suit and underneath the armor to prevent it from shifting around.

Thanks for the input. Can any of you please provide a photo that shows where your neck plate sits on the vest and your shoulder pieces?

For the wookie braids I have a small string I loop over one of the collar studs to keep them from sliding off of my shoulder, barely noticeable and keeps them right where I want them.
