Ok so big update and this one got me grinning ear to ear, the second trooping helmet is done!
I have installed 2 fans, an amp with audio pic up so I can hear whats going on around me, range finder stalk servo and range finder lights.. I have the Aker voice mic also
First off is the sound amp, I found this online simple easy to use audio pic up, for only a couple of pound it is more than enough to hear the surrounding environment, I sat up stairs and got my partner to whisper down stairs and I could her it clear as day its fantastic for very little money...
I stripped it down and put the mic in the range finder, now I have a directional microphone when the stalk is lowered :cool when its up top I get no feed back noises from my clothes rustling etc so its the perfect place
I solved the servo issue I had, it turns outt the little servo tester I am using don't work with digital servos so I got a 9g analogue one and worked right away, all I need do is fix it to the stalk good and tight and it's ready to go
I had to get the visor in now that all the electronics are in, I got some 3mm dark perspex and cut to shape
now this stuff has very little flex and shatters if bent to much, I poured boiling water over it let it heat up a bit then bent it in to place and used hot glue to hold it down before it knew what happend to it....you will need 4 hands for this!!
here it is as it stands now in direct sunlight,
and a side by side of my first helmet that is on the left....(the one with the massive dent :rolleyes)
here is the mother of all electrics that fits in here
everything has a connector on it for quick fast servicing if I have an issue with a fan or something and I can inter change it without needing to strip it all back,
I have a little video in the link below of the range finder working with the lights also.

Now this has been a lot of work, very intensive and a lot of planning, a few fails along the way but hope it can help someone who wants to do all this, in total it cost less than about £50 for all the parts mailed to my door
