Master Replica EE-3

I'm going to see if it's ok if I can weather it I'll be on an exhibiotr pass so I'll be in early and might be able to work it over. Also please folks post comments on what you think about it when you see it.

Thought I would bring these pics down......easier to :love :love :love....

On the weathering there is no silver on the real reference it's weathered all the way to the resin. This is why I backed off a little there are large portions 1inch by 1 inch that is just raw to the bone resin.

Lee,

I would have said a little more weathering would be nice but having read your comments I'm happy for the weathering to remain the way it is. I suppose we're really used to seing the blaster in its current state, after many years of storage and man-handling.

I'd be very happy if my copy looks close to the shots that you've shown, very nice for a mass produced item.

Thanks for all your efforts

Do you folks want it more beat up? Be honest Constructive feedback please. If you actually study the pictures the real piece is so beat up it makes it look like a resin piece and not really a display piece if that makes sense. The pictures also clean up a lot of the weathering too so in real life the MR piece beat up pretty bad.

Thanks

Lee

Thank you DAZ I appreciate that. It's a tough spot to be in but once more high rez pics come in from comic con I think everyone will see it's pretty darn beat up and dirty and the rust looks real too. I am concerned about fan opinions and will not defend my work so I don't take any critcisms negatively since it only helps us make a better product for you folks.

One item of note: NONE of the weathering was done with an airbrush. The only thing sprayed on is the two base colors.

Looking forward to better pics. :D

Man... I'm really getting excited now! (y)

More pictures of the MR EE-3 at Comic-Con:

They still haven't fixed the stock greeblies on the right side of the stock. Oddly on the left side they are correctly mounted.

The front scope mount is still backward.

The best part of these pics. You do get a much better feel of the paint job which looks really good. (y)

I notice screws in the buttstock?? Are there screws in the buttstock of the real one?? :confused

This could be old news, but I noticed at San Diego CC the stock bracket on the Master Rep's blaster looks like it is made of two pieces. I always thought the bracket was one piece? Any comments?

No that's called got broke in transportation. The engineering models are made from polystone so they are extremely delicate. Once the paintjob is approved by LFL they will go into production using proper materials. I met up with Frank Cerney (Falcon builder) and friend Nathan they took it home and repaired it for me since I did not have proper materials with me to repair her.

There a few members here that have the actual gun and saw the real prop on the various displays (AOSW). the MR wont tell us nothing we don't already know IMHO

Anyone seen these yet?
If anyone's got the cash lying around it might make a good reference for the rest of us ;)

Hey Rouge, I hope they are paying you in stocks or something cause it seems you are getting veto power at MR ;)
I swear i read something or maybe it was on a DVD or p[ossibly hear that they didnt have a rifle when shooting the SE scenes and they had to consign (rent) a webley to make a blaster fortheshots, anyone hear this same story

Hey, I think what happend on the blaster is the ESB Blaster does not appear to be in the archives and since they aren't as Fett inensive as the rest of us I believe they used the blaster that was intact and available and provided to them as Fett's. LFL is very strict about what gets copied etc. so they probably thought this was his main blaster and just handed to MR and said this is the one you are allowed to copy(MR was not allowed to rumage through they just ask for what they need and it's brought to them).

We had to really push the envelope on getting the correct color scheme on the Fett helmet plus MR had to get into my corner as well or we would have had a prepro 3 paintjob on the Fett helmet. I realize this does disappoint a few folks and you never know what could open down the line and maybe I can chat with them about this at Comic Con this week. Take it from me MR really tries hard to go to bat for us when it comes to getting stuff produced.

I have no idea when the helmet is scheduled but I do know the factory has turned out a few test copies and from what I understand they are very happy with the results. Although a few details might be missing I hope everyone can relate that on a painting aspect/mass produced item it's probably the most complex paintjob of any Star Wars piece to reproduce. The sculpt (I promise) is exactly like my casting the sizes and shapes are correct. Mine just has more imperfections in it. Short of casting an original which LFL will never allow this is the best it can ever get for *licensed Fett helmets.

Thank you for all of your feedback.
