Eagleskull's ESB Build(Jetpack Progress)

Eagleskull

Active Hunter
So begins, my Fett build has...

I remember joining TDH back in 2003, my first ever costume forums in hope to one day build a Boba Fett suit, back then I had no idea how to make any props and this place was the beginning of what I love to do today. Never had the opportunity to work on a Boba Fett costume since out of all the costumes I made this one of those "when I get better ill tackle it" project.

So to begin the first prop I bought was a SR EE-3 and sidearm, it was a fun little build did my best to paint it using reference picture here on the boards and get it as close to a bronze color I could get. Then came the small details, I scratch built a new level push button, got a better scope then my walmart one I had before and was able to get a Heiland Flashtube since MPP are hard to come by. The only thing now is trying to find a proper sling mount to put my leather sling on.

So far the items I have:

Woodman ESB cape
Girth Belt
BoobooFett Leather ammo belt
MOW Boots
MOW Jetpack and gaunts(Hopefully coming in soon)
Asok Helmet(Painting will start soon)

So slowly finally gathering items to get this project going and hopefully get it just an ounce as good as some of the awesome Fett builds I've seen over the years.

I will be updating and hopefully get feedback once I get more progress up.

So I went to the hobby shop today and they didn't have Polly-scale, when I asked they told me they don't make them anymore. So would anyone have a link to what model master correspondence with the polly scale paints? Only one I was able to find from MM was Panzer Olive Grun.

Thanks in advance.

Depending on what you are looking to paint, there is a nice resource that Gravity put together a couple of years ago using resources and input from other members that specifies some different brands/colors of paints for various parts. Here is the link, but if you ever have to search for it here, just search for "mindmap."

Boba Fett Paint Colors - MindMeister Mind Map

Hope this helps!

Yeah it's really sweet having that Jetpack. I've had mine for a while now but still haven't managed to get it set up to wear. That's being fixed though. Ordering my JP hooks tonight.

Day off so build day, worked mostly on the gauntlets. Could anyone help me and tell me if the flamethrower is in the right placement? I tried my best looking at the pictures that were given.

Bro, this is a sweet jetpack! :)

Thank you, brother. Ordered a beacon and going to add the thrusters using a magnet method and I should be able to paint it up this weekend. Patterns are all cut out and ready for making the jumpsuit. Im getting excited to be able to finally have a test outfitting soon before paint.

Started painting the jetpack, I wanted to use rattle cans to paint since this is big piece. Every where I went they didn't have spruce green(which many use) so I used two different shades of green. Hopefully I could get another pair of eyes to see if the color I used is ok for the rest of the jetpack.

It looks very good. I'm not an expert on any Fett, but you did a good job on color as far as I can tell. How'd you get the browns on there?

Thanks cbrant and for the browns I just used a plain ol paper towel and dry patted it in =D

So I did my first "weather marking", Still dont know if im happy with it but little by little starting to take life.

Did you use brushes and your paper towel technique as well for the damage?

Looks great by the way!

Yes, I used the brush to stencil in the silver damage then I used steelwool to tone down the shine and then added more of the grim with dry"brushing" browns with a paper towel.

Added the main green coat and misted/shadowed a few places with a darker shade before I head to work. Cant wait to start doing the full on weathering =D
