New Hunter
Alright everyone, here's where I'm at so far...

Soft parts:

Flightsuit
Spats
Belt pouches
Girth belt (needs to be redyed)
Flak vest w/neckseal (only part I'm not 100% satisfied with)
MOW Boots

Armor:
All except helmet and gauntlets

Edit: Flightsuit, pouches, vest, and armor were made by cucblack

Pics attatched.

Hello there!
A good start and ESB is a fantastic choice! ;) May I ask who the maker of the flightsuit is?
Good luck with your build and always have fun. :)

Thanks. I purchased most of what I have so far from Christian Cucblack of Bolivia (Edited first post to include). Everything was tailored to my size which ended up fittinging perfectly. Turn around was about a month if I remember correctly, and his prices were pretty good. Only thing I think I'm not happy with and may upgrade is the vest/neckseal, something is just a bit off for the ESB style. Any recommendations for a more accurate version of said vest/neckseal?

Also try batninja for vest.

Alright, so a little bit of an update...

I painted the stomach plate yesterday to see how craft paint would do through my airbrush and it turned out better than I had hoped:

Penciled on the damage using RafalFett's templates

Masked using Monster FX liquid latex then first layer applied

Took five coats to cover

Fully dry in 12 hours, masking removed

I wasn't really trying to cheap out on the paint, but due to the cost I had to at least give this a try. In order to use the craft paint in my airbrush, I came up with a method of thinning it using a 50/50 denatured alcohol and distilled water mix, then eyeballed it to the consistency of your typical airbrush paint you buy in the store (which ended up about 40% paint 60% reducer). The color used was Folk Art Acrylic School Bus Yellow in Matte finish, with a touch of Medium Gray.

Thoughts? Has anyone else had success with this type of paint?

One question: why dont you paint only the areas where the damages are and the yellow will later appear? Wouldnt it be less work and paint?

I wouldn't really say less work...less paint for sure though haha. It was really just a test run to see how that brand of paint with my reducer would cover, and it was my first time spraying with a halfway decent air brush. I gotta say though, since the paint is so inexpensive I may just fully layer the whole set, but it will depend on how the next plate comes out.

Update: I've collected a few more soft parts in the last month and sprayed a new layer on the right chest plate.

So far the craft paint is holding up well after drying, and it's sticking to the silver rustoleum I painted 5 years ago with just an alcohol wipe down...not too shabby.
