Hey Bro! Thanks for the compliments. Really appreciate it .

As for the bolt attachment (http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f25/a...s-1-2-a-35485/), my inspiration came from bobamaker (http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f25/a...utorial-20322/). Since WB Armor is metal, I decided on the JB Weld. I use smaller screws, more of them and cap/acorn nuts. 90-95% of the original screws are still firmly attached to the armor. Several detached when the vest slipped off a hanger and hit the floor from about five feet up. I have tried other adhesives but have come back to the JB Weld. JB Quick to be exact. This is working out nicely, but work time is short. You have to move pretty quickly. Of course, surface prep is very important.

Been doing A LOT of trooping lately, as you already know. Did Friday's SWIC at the Hollywood Bowl, a Cancer Survivors Picnic Saturday, and the CHLA Cancer Survivors Reunion at Paramount Studios on Sunday. Have two of three days at the E3 Show here at the LA Convention Center on Wednesday and Thursday. And on the 11th, I'm "guarding" a 3 foot diameter Millennium Falcon WEDDING CAKE. The wedding and reception is IN the Los Angeles Museum of Natural History!!!

Gotta say, it's gonna really suck if I ever get another "real" job again. Talk to you on facebook soon.

SOUND ADDED TO VEST !!!

Have been using my Aker amp inside of my left belt pouch. But having people talk to my crotch got old.

- I disassembled the amp, removing the speaker and also replaced the original rechargeable battery with a 9V (the thing just wouldn't hold a charge longer than an hour).
- The speaker was then mounted in the vest, directly behind the center diamond plate.
- I added two wires to the 3 wire XLR that currently supplies power to the chest displayed and wrapped in gray gaffer's tape.
- I replaced the 3-pin XLR panel mount and right angle plug with 5-pin versions.

Jet Pack now houses the Amp and it's battery, battery for Chest Display and battery for Beacon. Power for the Chest Display and signal for the speaker is supplied via the XLR cable. I use an IASUS NT3 Throat Mic.

I will be replacing the Aker board with a Honeytone Mini Guitar Amp board. Honeytone is more powerful and has volume, tone and overdrive!

It's official. I finally put in for, and received my BH designation! Woo-hoo!!!
No more "SE" or "TK"
My Stormtrooper is now "retired". I do plane on building another, along with a Biker Scout. All in good time.

Thank you. My new GML didn't know either until I requested the new designation! Funny part is, my Fett was one of his reference sources for other BH approvals!

Just a bump to see if BooBoo Fett is watching this thread. I'm curious as to how the throat mic gets connected to the amp now that it's pin the jetpack. Do you run the wire down you back and into the pack?

I've had a wireless boom mic system in place for months. Feedback problems have blocked implementation. This speaker's close proximity to the helmet caused horrible feedback. As stated in another thread (http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f20/p...36/#post559285), my speaker placement was dictated by my body's build. Havering a concave breast bone, I could have the speaker directly in the center of my chest with no absolutely no bulge in the vest.

Well, RafalFett got me thinking. I've gotten a bit fat lately (up to 190 from 176lb) so I figured what the hell, and moved the speaker behind the Ab plate. Surprisingly the slight bit of bulge created by the speaker is barely noticeable and, best of all, no more feed back. Woo-hoo!

The vest power cable still goes to the JP. That will not, and can not at this point, change!

I am packing up my suit now for a troop tonight at The Discovery Science Center. Hopefully all will work there as it did here at home
