Thanks Battrooper - once you get it done you will love wearing it!

and the scout is getting cleanup tonight before I start doing the pack lol

Just a heads up: the upper and lower tank caps and the bottom grid are not painted in black but in a medium gray color:

Thanks! I will switch them to a gloss medium gray- I still have to put the vent thing in the bottom of the pack anyway.

I have been trying to search keywords to find what the piece on the right gauntlet to the hose is called so I can try and get the correct part with the headphone type jacks and can't find it. Can someone point me in the right direction ?

I want to finish painting the Jetpack this weekend. Any help with the correct color for the collar/rocket/fins/trim? This is what I have brush wise and I have testors silver leaf and gloss silver in spray cans. The grays look like they will be the same. Honestly I love how the foil tape looks but getting it to lay correctly on the fins is a pain

Here is my response to your questions from the PM:

I suppose that 'A' is a silver, metallic color, which is very close and the 'TE' should be a bit brighter. The rectangular in the center diamond looks silver (same goes to the 3 holes in the abdominal plate), as it changes from shiny to opaque when the armor changes direction:

I am thinking A is too dark. The parts look like polished almost reflective metal but not quite chrome on the color shots. The left most one is metallic silver- it doesn't look as glittery in person- I think that is from the sanding scratches which I am going to fill. I also like this lighter gray as well .

Thoughts on these Jetpack decals? I have to play with the size before taking them to be vinyl printed

Hey Hawk hit up BH-1660 on making those decals in our garrison. He'd probably love to get that pattern and would hook you up since your in the garrison. He goes by Lucksy31 here.

I had messaged him before about getting some and he unfortunately didn't get back to me. So I'm just gonna get my own made and if anyone wants them I will sell them. The place I have make car logos for work should be able to make them for me

I love this hobby but no one should have to beg someone to take their $$$ . People are all about empathy for Fettpride- I offered to pay for materials up front to help him out and offer to pay for gauntlets ... no response after being to to let him know when I was ready. A simple" no " is polite enough to let someone know you don't want to sell to them. I don't see how anyone should have to wait a year or 2 to get any part. Yes, quality takes time but some things just are unreasonable. Anything I can't buy within a few months I will just have made. Graphics can be done, I have spent enough on found parts that I can make all of them. Maybe not armor but once I start vac forming stuff I will figure it out. If I have to blow up the rear pic of the jetpack to life like size and have it printed to get the scale right I will.

01 Hawk - hey man, SO sorry for the miscommunication brother. I actually DO have these already cut, and I thought that I did get back to you. If I didn't, my apologies man. I actually thought you changed your mind. If I can be of any assistance, please shoot me a PM and let me know man.

I've met both of you guys in RL and its a shame that there was some crossed wires here. Scott's been nothing but helpful towards me...and I will take him up on his offer on decals soon now that I got my Greedo out of the way. You've been equally helpful. If your plan is to sell the decals, the more the merrier IMO because that means there are more places to get stuff when RL jumps up and distracts someone like it does occasionally. I wish I had the attention to detail you and others have on this forum...I'm too easily distracted by my three gremlins sometimes.

Back to the regularly scheduled thread...looking sharp as always buddy!

My apologies to Scott - my issue isn't with him , it just so happened it revolved around a product he offered. If they are available I would much rather get them thru him to support the work he has put into providing some excellent looking decals for all model Fetts. I have tried to buy from as many vendors here as possible. Which oddly enough, was the only real criticism I have taken on my suit - that I didn't build it myself. I have no desire to build/sell anything that is readily available thru an vendor here.

Even though I have almost all the pieces to finish, the build has pretty much frustrated me. I would like to " upgrade" some pieces for no real good reason other than some very minor details that I don't like that may very well just be normal. Given the wait times and/or flat out lack of availability for some parts, it leaves me with the choice of whining about why I can't get something, buying complete suits to take what I want and part out the rest ( which I would feel horrible doing given the paint work I would be covering up) or just making my own stuff. In this instance I didn't see anyone with the decals available nor templates here. While I wanted to throw my grappling hook thru the wall last night, I am getting pretty close to having the pack ready.

I have let the desire to be as accurate as possible take away from why I really do this - fun. Yes, some will see the "flaws" but most will not. For now I am going back to doing it for fun.

Back to the grappling hook. This is where it is for now. I want to try and make one that the upper piece comes off and I can put something inside to make the fins secure and functional since the one pic has them extended. Long term maybe even something to extend them electronically which would be pretty cool.
