01Hawk WIP : Supertrooper

Theyre the same blue as the cheeks on the ROTJ....Im fairly sure....So Deep Sea blue from Tamiya....I would say...like Jayvee recommends its basically black though....

The ROTJ triangles are definitely left over from the Super Trooper color wise....you can see theyre UNDER the green....

Hey man, I don't know how I'm just now seeing your thread. I'm pretty sure that I met you at Awesome Con. I went as ESB Fett. I think we took a photo together.

Is this you?

Awesome bro! Small world. Your suit looked great as well. That's why I asked to get a pic with you. We got a chance to chat briefly through the helmets but it was so crowded and so many folks wanted pictures that we couldn't really talk. I know what you mean about getting stuck. I had a handler in front of me and behind me so that I could get through the crowds. I couldn't go 5 steps without someone asking for a photo (not that I'm complaining. I actually loved it.) Are you planning on taking your ST to CVIII? I'm submitting my photos for the Old Line Garrison within the next week and hope to get approved soon after so I can get out and troop some of the many events they do. Are you in MD or VA?

I'm actually from PA .. I go to shows with a couple who are from Maryland and I will be at Otakon next weekend. I have tickets for Celebration and will be bringing the Fett which will be done and hopefully approved by then as well as my scout and hopefully a Flametrooper ( if I can find a way of getting them all down there). The attention at shows and the happiness the costumes bring to both kids and adults is why I do it. The only time it bothers me is when I am dying of thirst and trying to get a drink lol.

I hear that. Awesome Con was my first time in the suit and I had a blast. The reaction of the kids (and grown ups) made the heat and sweat and thirst worth it. I'm hoping to get better at the whole gig as I gain more experience. As far as transporting stuff goes, I'm sending my gear down with my garrison GML who's driving down with a trailer. I'll take the bucket on the plane with me but nothing else. I'm too nervous to ship anything or, god forbid, put it on the plane.

What part of PA are you from? My wife is from the Pittsburgh area.

Born in Philly, lived in Levittown most my life and now live outside Reading since that is where my ex wife is from. You will start loving the cons a ton. Boba Fetts are always popular and I always seem to have a good time.

What a wonderful job you did on that build. Awe inspiring work and dedication. Love it!
I'm "almost" thinking of turning my own work into the same as yours but haven't decided. I'm not that far long in the build (just getting through scratch building the armour).

Tonight's lesson is : even though you go over all the pictures to locate where to put the Jetpack beacon from the top - the side of your Jetpack may not agree with that location

But in the end it isn't too bad

When I get my Flametrooper ready for paint I may redo the pack. The top needs to be filled a bit to let the beacon/stabilizer sit level. I don't think anyone will even notice the lack of level since you have to kinda look down on it. I was soooo set on trying to get the placement right I just drilled right down. When I saw the piano key pop off I cringed and was afraid to look lol

LOL. You don't come to this site unless you are freakishly anal. If you have a strong opinion between which Boba Fett is better, ESB or ROTJ, let me break it to you. You are anal.

If you know the difference between the ROTJ Mythosaur and the ESB Mythosaur, you are anal.

Absolutely no one will know the difference. It looks 100% square to me, but it will probably always be in the back of your mind.
