So I do ALOT of electronics work. For the last few years I've worked out of a small craftsman metal box, and it holds my basic hand tools and iron with a small cache of emergency supplies. Recently I've come to the conclusion that my needs exceed the current toolbox. I came up with a design that would comfortably house all my handtools, a healthy supply of emergency components and supplies, as well as have a built in powersupply, fume fan, and a spot to permanently mount the iron, and have it so all I have to do is open the box and plug it in, flick a switch, and everything is right there.
I have all the components to build the power supply and fan setup, and bought enough sixteenth inch t6 to make said fancy box, but after a day of toil, learned my skills on a bandsaw far overshadow my jigsaw skills, and that a 40 inch harbor freight sheet brake can't even bend postcard stock.
At the minute I'm at a loss for ideas. if I use thinner material I can't weld it, and I really don't trust rivets. Plastic is pretty much out of the question, so I'm drawing a blank on how to proceed. Anyone have any advice?
