I have had several people approach me about making the new mandalorian helmet from the new mini series coming out later this year! All I can find is this one photo/view...does anyone have any other reference material/photos that are real/accurate?
Here is the beginning of what I hope is to be a decent version of what we see on the big screen! So far I have removed the ears from both sides, roughed in the cheeks and started designing the new style Ear caps.
Looks like you are off to a good start for sure. There is a thread on here where someone snapped some photos from the bucket used in Galaxies Edge that shows you a good look at both ear caps, which are essentially just mirrored images of each other
I agree with the mirrored ear caps! I'm just trying to figure out exactly what the base/structure looks like beneath the cap....I will make it removable just like the standard ear cap.
This is what I was able to do over the 4th of July...I have the earcap and base pretty close to complete for the Right side just have to finish the lower greeblie and then start all over for the other side! I have the cheeks defined a little better now still not there yet!
So after looking through some screen shots I see that picture #2 is not accurate from my original post! As you can see here...this person is removing filler that was added to the channel so we know they made the left ear Center channel solid just like the Right side!
Here is the latest on where I am with the cheeks and building out the "sideburns". From all the reference photos that I have looked at...it seems to me that the helmet is a bit on the wider side!
Not sure if you still need these but here are the clearest shots I could find (from Jon Favreau's instagram and from the series itself). I tried to get all the relevant angles...
This is my version of the Disney Mando helmet...I believe I may revisit it in the near future and make a closer cannon design!
My ear caps are removable just like on standard mando helmets.
